Ciruela Fruit Box for Sale
Ciruela Fruit is a small fruit with a thin flesh covering a fibrous pit, sour and dry when it’s green and juicy and sweet when ripe. It’s usually eaten by itself with a pinch of salt or in jams. The fibers from its pit can be compacted and used for different things such as wood like sustainable materials, rope or in vegan shoe soles.
Health Benefits of Ciruela
Ciruela is a source of vitamin A to maintain healthy organ functioning, calcium to build strong bones and teeth, and iron to develop the protein hemoglobin for oxygen transport through the bloodstream. The fruits also provide potassium to balance fluid levels within the body, phosphorus to assist in tissue repair, fiber to regulate the digestive tract, and other nutrients, including vitamins C and B.
In Central America, Ciruela fruits and leaves are boiled in water, made into a paste, and applied topically to sores and wounds, used as a poultice for headaches, consumed as a natural laxative, or ingested to soothe sore throats.
Current Facts
Ciruela Plums are a stone fruit and members of the Rosaceae family and classified under the genus, Prunus, along with peaches, cherries, almonds and apricots. The benchmark plum variety is the Santa Rosa plum, a Japanese plum developed in America by Luther Burbank in 1906. The Black Splendor plum is larger, tarter and an earlier ripening variety when compared to the Santa Rosa.
